Three economic warnings

Portugal’s inevitable default

Sell Portugal. I call this the “pessimism premium”; warnings like the above are never absorbed fully enough by the market because of all the propaganda efforts by Government/Media’s professional soothers.

GM channel-stuffing to fake sales numbers

Sell GM. I said a while back that anyone who thinks the numbers coming out of Government Motors are meaningful for making stock buying decisions is deluded.

Fed doesn’t even know how to print money

Sell dollars. I don’t have any faith that this $100,000,000,000.00 in misprinted currency will really all be burned, especially since they admit only about a third of it is actually misprinted and they are burning it all because it would be too expensive to go through by hand and find the bad bills. Where’s the Joker when you need him?

    Where does one place one’s assets now?

    Stocks are going to crash. Bonds give a rotten return. Commodities are overpriced as it is.
